WHAT IS MOTIVATING EXCELLENCE ?
Motivating Excellence is a professional dance-training program that is geared to the commercial dancer. Created by Artistic Director/ Choreographer Rhapsody James, M.E. provides students with the skills and knowledge to become the ultimate commercial dancer in the entertainment industry. Through intense class training and professional seminars, M.E. is dedicated to defining the discipline in commercial dance.
Motivating Excellence is also the first professional dance training program catered specifically to the commercial dancer. This program is set to be the pre-requisite for dancers aspiring to be in the entertainment business. Motivating Excellence provides intense training classes in Performance, Staging Techniques, Partnering Techniques, Props, Floor Work, Street Jazz and Commercial Hip Hop. Alternative classes and seminars such as Ballet and Jazz for the commercial dancer, Image Consulting, and special Auditions Workshops are also provided. Classes are taught by professional choreographers and teachers with emphasis on etiquette and discipline. Students are challenged to go beyond their normal expectation and strive to motivate their excellence.
ARE THERE ANY M.E ALUMNI CURRENTLY WORKING IN THE COMMERCIAL DANCE BUSINESS?
YES, we are very proud of our M.E Alumni. Our alumni continues to work with the best of the best in the industry such as Beyonce, Usher, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell, J.LO, Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Puff Daddy and many more. Through dedication, hard work and self discipline, we are proud of our alumni as they have been able to use this training to move on to the next levels of their careers.
WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE SEASON 8 MOTIVATING EXCELLENCE PROGRAM?
The Motivating Excellence Program is held in Los Angeles CA, over a course of 6 weeks / 5 days a week / 8 hours per day.
There is also an additional week (week 7) of rehearsals for our M.E Season Final Production. This years program dates are May 20th - July 6th, 2019.
CAN I AUDITION IN A CITY THAT I AM NOT FROM?
YES, Absolutely! You do not have to be from LA or NYC to audition. We encourage dancers from all over the world to audition.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO THE AUDITION?
YES! Please bring a HEADSHOT & RESUME. We ask that you please come prepared with a headshot, resume, knee pads, towel, and water. You will be dancing for the entire audition, so be prepared.
HOW MUCH IS THE M.E PROGRAM?
The Motivating Excellence program is $4500.00 USD / **Payment Plans are available**
DOES THE M.E PROGRAM PROVIDE HOUSING?
At this time Motivating Excellence does NOT provide housing. Students are responsible for finding there own lodging and accomodations. We hope to provide some housing options in the very near future.
IF ACCEPTED INTO THE M.E PROGRAM / SEASON 8, WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED?
All acceptance notifications will be sent out late January 2019.
